My earlier work in bronze dealt with gates, walls columns that were marked and weathered. Injured at times, built together in massive layers, suggesting silent remnants of the past, a historical record perhaps, a personal account. Whether they were walls that cracked and allowed some light through, or gates that were somewhat battered, marked, they were meant to suggest survival and endurance. In this group, the recurrent theme dealt with the erosion by time.
